Hampton chooses ProLink system for golf courses
Jacksonville Business Journal - 12:25 PM EDT Thursday, May 17, 2007

Hampton Golf Clubs has chosen the ProLink golf course management system to install at five courses in Northeast Florida. Hampton manages the golf courses for its parent company, LandMar Group LLC.

The ProLink system uses Global Positioning Systems devices in golf carts to allow players to determine distances and stay in touch with the clubhouse.

Using a cart-mounted console with a 10-inch screen, a golfer can see his position on the course and get distance to the pin without having to consult yardage books and search for markers or sprinklers.

The system also allows course managers to track carts, monitor and manage pace of play and communicate with players. They can warn players who are driving near hazards or restricted areas or notify everyone of approaching storms. And players can send messages to the clubhouse when someone on the course needs medical help or has lost a club.

"ProLink is clearly the best GPS tool available as evidenced by the company's rapid worldwide growth and dominant market position," said M.G. Orender, president of Hampton Golf. "We will realize multiple revenue lifts and advertising profits by utilizing their marketing and media systems in conjunction with ours."

The ProLink system, will be used at Hampton Golf's Grand Haven Golf Club and the Grand Club in Palm Coast, North Hampton in Fernandina Beach, South Hampton in St. Augustine, the Golf Club at Osprey Cove in St. Mary's Ga. and clubs in Fort Myers and Brooksville.

GPS programs aren't cheap. For a typical course with a 75- to 80-cart fleet, systems cost $3,000 to $6,000 a month to lease. Fewer than 10 percent of customers buy GPS systems, which can cost a few hundred thousand dollars.

ProLink Solutions, based in Chandler, Ariz., has installed systems in more than 700 courses in the U.S. and abroad. The company is the main subsidiary of publicly traded ProLink Holdings Corp. (OTCBB: PLKH).
